When to get medical help straight away
Seek immediate medical help for breathing difficulty or swelling of your face or throat. Contact your doctor straight away or go to the nearest emergency department for severe, lasting stomach pain, which may spread to your back, or severe constipation with stomach pain, bloating and vomiting.
These symptoms can signal a serious allergic reaction, inflammation of the pancreas or bowel obstruction. If you have diabetes and develop eye problems or changes in vision during treatment, tell your doctor straight away.
Seek urgent care directly. Do not wait for a routine clinic message to be answered.
Common effects and what to record
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, stomach pain and feeling weak or tired are listed as very common side effects. Speak to your doctor if these symptoms worry you.
Gallstones are a common side effect of Wegovy; an inflamed gallbladder is uncommon. Gallbladder problems can cause pain in the upper right of your stomach. Tell your doctor if you have this pain.
Low blood sugar can occur when Wegovy is used with a sulfonylurea or insulin.

Fluids, meals and dose questions
Vomiting and diarrhoea can cause dehydration. Drink enough fluids, and speak with your doctor about concerns, especially if you have kidney problems. If nausea or vomiting is very bothersome, discuss your dose with your doctor.

Use Wegovy exactly as your doctor has instructed. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before deciding to stop a medicine.
Before any procedure needing general anaesthesia or deep sedation, tell your healthcare professional that you are taking Wegovy.
Prepare a useful symptom message
For a non-urgent question, put the key details together before contacting us. You can use this format:

Add your contact details and the question you want answered. For example: “Do I need a review before my next scheduled injection?” Keep urgent symptoms out of a routine messaging queue and seek care directly.
